Why Montessori ?
We are very pleased to have distinguished Montessorian, Una Barry, as our guest speaker for our January information evening. On Wednesday, January 31, from 5:30 – 7:00, Una will discuss the core beliefs of Montessori education and outline the characteristics of the child at each level: toddler, primary, elementary and discuss how the Montessori classroom meets the child’s needs. She will also present Montessori research and outcomes.
Una has Montessori education in her blood! She holds an AMI Primary diploma from the Montessori College, Sion Hill, Dublin, Ireland. She served as a primary directress for 9 years at the Montessori School of Greater Hartford. Moving towards administration, she served as curriculum coordinator for 9 years before becoming MSGH’s head of school in 2004. Newly retired from that position, Una continues her work as a Montessori consultant to schools, teachers and parents.
“Children and Montessori are my duel passions and I believe that the Montessori approach to life is the most respectful, natural means to support optimal child development.”
This is going to be a great evening where you can learn and have fun at the same time. Please join us for this special presentation.
