Our mission: Our Montessori Discovery School community nurtures joyful learners who confidently
engage their world.
As MDS children navigate the rest of their lives, their MDS education lays a strong foundation that serves them well and helps them develop as individuals. With the love of learning, curiosity, self-reliance, self-confidence, and respect for others gained through authentic Montessori education, children are ready to meet life head-on and enjoy doing so.

Montessori Discovery School is a not-for-profit 50(c)(3) Montessori school located in beautiful southeastern Connecticut, MDS is a breath of fresh air from the busy city life. Our wetlands and fields provide outdoor explorations for our students as well as a home for our llamas and chickens. Children and staff learn to care for our environment and our animals while gaining independence through Montessori education. MDS is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, and is a member of AMS, and Montessori Schools of Connecticut.
